Elon Musk accused of pressuring Tesla board members into illicit drug use

The newspaper suggests these high-ranking individuals were among those profiting significantly from their deep ties with the billionaire. This raised questions amongst shareholders about the board's independence.
Elon Musk and substance use
The American newspaper had also previously reported that Musk regularly consumed substances such as LSD, cocaine, MDMA ('ecstasy'), and psychedelic mushrooms, often at private gatherings. According to the paper, some executives felt coerced into participating in the use of illicit substances with Musk, fearing that refusal might trigger hostility. The individuals, who remained anonymous in the report, expressed concerns about potential loss of their 'social capital' and exclusion from Musk's inner circle.
Neither Musk nor his lawyer, Alex Spiro, responded to the 'Wall Street Journal's request for comment. In reference to previous reports about Musk's substance use, Spiro emphasised that his client underwent frequent and random drug tests at SpaceX and had never failed one.
Musk himself has previously commented on the reports by posting on 'Platform X' last month, "If indeed drugs could improve my net productivity over time, I would certainly take them!" he wrote.
Presently, Elon Musk is in control of six corporations: Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink, xAI, and he is also the owner of Twitter which currently operates under the X brand.
