The situation in the Kursk region is becoming increasingly dynamic. Thousands of residents have decided to evacuate. Journalists from "The Washington Post" reached a prison in Ukraine where at least 250 Russian prisoners are held. Their accounts are shocking.

Remember that President Vladimir Putin does not go easy on his compatriots. A few days ago, several hundred resisting Russian conscripts were forcibly put on a plane and transported from Saint Petersburg to Kursk.

According to the independent ASTRA Press, the military personnel were immediately armed and sent to the front.

These are likely people who were taken from the military village of Kamenka near Saint Petersburg, where the 138th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade is stationed. At least 500 men who refused to fight were held there.

A week ago, it was widely reported that Ukrainian Security Service forces captured 102 soldiers from the 488th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces and the notorious "Akhmat" unit of Ramzan Kadyrov.

We did not want to fight in any way. We were promised that we would not take part in hostilities at all. But something went wrong - emphasised one of the soldiers.

Journalists visited the prison where Russian prisoners are held. In the last 10 days, 320 Russian soldiers passed through this POW camp, of which only about 20 percent are contract soldiers.

They came, chatted, told their stories, listened to ours - said one of the Russian prisoners.
