This year's Eurovision has been fraught with tension and surprise. Only moments before the grand finale began, news broke online about the disqualification of Joost Klein, one of this year's top contenders. Klein, who represented the Netherlands, was initially suspended and disqualified from the competition.
In light of Joost Klein's disqualification from the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has decided not to publicly award points from its jury. The decision came following discussions with YouTuber Nikkie de Jager, who was the spokesperson for the event on behalf of the Netherlands.
AVROTROS has stated, "Now, as we no longer participate in the Grand Finale of the Eurovision Song Contest, we do not see the need to distribute points from the Dutch jury. After consulting with Nikkie de Jager, who was meant to be our spokesperson tonight, we have chosen not to do so. Like Nikkie, we had hoped for a different outcome this evening."
