Yellow teeth are a problem for many of us. Often, even expensive whitening toothpaste can't protect us against this problem. Fortunately, there are simple and also cheap ways to remedy this.
Afraid of yellow teeth? Remember one thing
Each of us tries to take care of our teeth. We often invest in expensive whitening pastes, hoping that we can finally smile widely. Dr Ferakh Hamid, a dentist for over 20 years, revealed in a conversation with Leeds that preparing our toothbrush before scrubbing the teeth is extremely important.
"Brushing your teeth in certain ways, like without water or right after eating acidic foods, might actually make them look less white over time."
The dentist emphasized that we should moisten the brush's bristles with water before cleaning our teeth. Wetting them again after we've already applied toothpaste is not a bad idea.
"Before you start brushing, it's a good idea to wet your toothbrush. This little step makes it easier to spread the toothpaste all over your teeth, making cleaning more effective."
Do you brush your teeth immediately after eating a spicy meal? That's a huge mistake!
It's no secret that teeth should be brushed at least twice daily. In an ideal world, we should scrub them after every meal. However, it turns out that we shouldn't always do it right after eating.
"We definitely recommend holding off on brushing after consuming anything acidic, whether it's fruit, soda, juice, or sour candy," said in a conversation with LADbible Dr Ezzard Rolle from Columbia University.
It's all because of the acids that are in the mouth at that time. Using a toothbrush immediately after consuming, for example, a spicy meal, can weaken the enamel of our teeth.
"The reason for that is that when acids are in the mouth, they weaken the enamel of the tooth, which is the outer layer of the tooth," the dentist emphasized.
