The tennis tournament in Rome is captivating much attention. Fans are flocking around the most celebrated players. Novak Djokovic even faced difficulties getting to practice in a golf cart.

In Rome, the leading male and female tennis stars simultaneously showcase their talents. For a fortnight, the Italian capital transforms into the epicentre of tennis.

The tournament suffered a significant setback when Jannik Sinner pulled out of the men’s draw. The Italian fans had high hopes for their countryman's success in Rome. Additionally, Carlos Alcaraz withdrew due to injury, leaving seasoned players Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as the biggest attractions of the tournament.

Novak Djokovic is seeking his first tournament victory of the year. The Serb aims to capitalize on Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz's absence, though other players are just as keen to claim the title.

Before his first match, the Serb navigated the court complex in a golf cart. Moving from the press conference to practice proved challenging as his vehicle was besieged by fans, eager for a selfie with Novak Djokovic or to have him sign a ball.

Extra security was brought in to make a path to the court. Novak Djokovic appeared somewhat taken aback by the enthusiasm, feeling like the many football stars who play in Italy.

Novak Djokovic is poised to play his first match at the Rome tournament. The schedule has been disrupted due to rain, but the top-seeded Serb had a bye in the opening round.

“I think I’m on a good route to peak at Roland Garros in Paris. Hopefully here in Rome I can play better than I did in Monte Carlo,” states Novak Djokovic during a press conference.
