Sofia Goggia, the Olympic gold medalist, shares her unique take on Atalanta's football triumphs in the Europa League, playfully teasing the teams they've defeated.

For the first time in its history, Atalanta has made it to the finals of a European Cup. After clinching their semi-final match on Thursday, only one game stands between them and the coveted trophy. Their upcoming challenge is formidable, facing Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a team that hasn't lost since the season began.

Avid Atalanta supporter Sofia Goggia, from Bergamo, has seen significant success as an alpine skier. Her most celebrated accomplishment is winning the Olympic gold medal in the downhill event at Pyeongchang. Four years later, she continued her streak by securing a silver medal in the same category in Beijing.

Atalanta's fans were immensely excited after their quarter-final victory over Liverpool FC. Celebrating the win, she posed in a shirt featuring the slogan "You'll Never Eat Polenta Alone," a witty twist on Liverpool's famed anthem line "You'll Never Walk Alone." Polenta, a cornmeal speciality, is beloved in Bergamo.

Atalanta faced Olympique Marseille in the semi-finals, an occasion Goggia seized to share her playful commentary again. "Salami is better than baguette," she quipped on social media, drawing a humorous distinction between Italian and French culinary tastes.

Goggia finds joy during the alpine skiing off-season. Late spring offers relaxation and early preparations for the forthcoming season for skiing professionals.

What Goggia will do for the final remains a mystery. Yet, given her lively involvement in preceding matches, it's expected she'll find a way to taunt German team Bayer 04 Leverkusen playfully.
