New details continually surface in the media regarding Diddy, who is accused of rape, violence, and organised human trafficking. Standing by the musician is his mother, who has just released a detailed statement about her son. She claims the accusations against the star are "motivated by individuals seeking financial gain, not justice."

Diddy has been jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for nearly a month, awaiting trial. The rapper's defenders achieved little by offering a £41 million bail - the court firmly rejected their request. A 14-page indictment has been issued against the star, and he faces a potential life sentence for the crimes committed.

Prosecutors accuse the 54-year-old of "creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates were involved in human trafficking for sexual purposes, kidnappings, arson, and bribery." As if that weren't enough, more alleged victims are coming forward to the police, claiming the rapper sexually exploited them. Among the accusers are 25 minors, with the youngest victim alleged to be just 9 years old.

Despite incriminating evidence indicating the star's guilt, there are still those who believe in the disgraced musician's innocence (or at least they maintain they do). In defence of Sean Combs, his mother, Janice Smalls Combs, has issued an extensive statement that appeared on Page Six on Sunday. The 84-year-old claims her son is the victim of a conspiracy aimed at utterly discrediting him in the public eye.

My heart breaks seeing my son judged not based on truth but on a narrative built on lies – Janice confessed in the statement shared with Page Six by her lawyer on Sunday. Watching what seems like a public lynching of my son before he had a chance to prove his innocence is a pain indescribable in words. Like any person, my son deserves his day in court to finally present his version and prove his innocence.

Janice also referred to surveillance footage that showed Diddy punching and kicking his then-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel in 2016.

I am not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not. He has made mistakes in his past, as we all have - she continued. My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise.

Janice also revealed why, in her opinion, Diddy settled with Cassie out of court in November 2023. According to unofficial sources, the amount he transferred to the singer's account as compensation for inflicted harm was £25 million.

Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed - she said.

This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt.

Janice also stood firmly by her son amidst numerous allegations of sexual assault.

Not being entirely straightforward about one issue does not mean my son is guilty of the repulsive allegations and the grave charges leveled against him – she continued. Many individuals who were wrongfully convicted and later exonerated had their freedom taken from them not because they were guilty of the crimes they were accused of, but because they didn’t fit the image of what this society considers to be a ‘good person.’ History has showed us how individuals can be wrongfully convicted due to their past actions or mistakes.

The mother of the Grammy-winning artist stated that the accusations against her son are "motivated by those seeking a financial gain, and not justice."

Watching the world make jokes and laugh at my son’s life crumbling before our eyes is something I can never forget. It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side.

Janice also noted that Diddy's latest accusers are seeking "quick money" after seeing his settlement with Cassie.

These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son – she concluded.

Furthermore, Janice emphasised that "false allegations of sexual assault prevent real victims of sexual violence from receiving the justice they deserve." Diddy's mother additionally stated that the federal government is using these "lies" against her son to "take him down."
