Canadian team, the Halifax Mooseheads, were the first to report the passing of Jirí Suchý. The Czech hockey player tragically passed away in a car accident. The 36-year-old man's life was sadly cut short.

The full details of the tragedy remain unknown. Suchý had been residing in his home country for several years, having returned after playing for clubs in Slovakia and Germany. From 2005 to 2007, he played in Canada, where he was considered to have a potentially thriving career ahead of him.

"We are deeply saddened to receive the news of Jirí Suchý's passing in a tragic car accident. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones," reads a statement on the Halifax Mooseheads' profile on portal X.

He made a positive impact in Canada. This is reflected in the comments made, both by fans and former teammates.

"Without a doubt, he was the toughest player I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. It's a heavy loss. Rest in peace," writes Bryce Swan, a former teammate in Halifax.
"He was a great guy, always open to discuss anything and it wasn't just about hockey"; "If I had a son, I would want him to be like Jiri", remark the fans.

Suchý was a member of the Czech junior national team and participated in the world championships in 2008. After returning from Canada, he played for Czech teams like Draci Sumperk, and HC Witkowice. He also had the opportunity to play for clubs in Germany and Slovakia.

As a young player, he was regarded as a promising talent, yet he didn't achieve as illustrious a career as many anticipated. He spent the majority of his career in the second league in his home country and never had the chance to debut in the senior Czech national team.
