Do you find yourself wanting something sweet again? This is common when you're attempting to change your eating habits or lose weight. Selecting the right drinks can help address this urge. Opting for them is worthwhile when temptation arises for a chocolate bar, sweets, or biscuit.

First of all, water

The simplest way to curb snacking on sweet treats is to drink water. When the body is well-hydrated, it tends not to crave large amounts of sugar. This method is worth a try. Instead of reaching for a biscuit or a chocolate bar, have a glass of water. However, if you struggle to consume large amounts of water or prefer warm drinks during this season, don't worry. We have two more recommendations.

Helpful green tea and more

Are you fond of green tea? Try matcha, which is finely ground green tea. This drink is rich in L-theanine, an amino acid that helps reduce stress and combat anxiety. These two factors often lead to compulsive snacking and frequent sweet consumption.

Matcha comes from high-quality green tea, which takes on an intense green colour after grinding. Consequently, the brew is packed with numerous other valuable nutrients. If matcha is too intense for your palate, you can try another variety of green tea. Sencha is slightly sweet, with a hint of grassiness and nuttiness. Its aroma is described as fresh and floral. Thanks to its catechin content, sencha enhances metabolism and supports maintaining a healthy weight. It also positively affects the regulation of blood sugar levels, which is especially vital for individuals with diabetes or insulin resistance.

Fewer fat cells

The next drink worth considering more frequently is also a type of tea. Kombucha is a fermented tea that boosts gut flora. It contains acetic acid, which aids in lowering blood sugar levels. This enables the body to metabolise glucose more efficiently and better manage cravings for sweets. Drinking kombucha supports weight loss and positively influences restoring balance in the gut microbiome. The acetic acid produced during fermentation helps reduce appetite and decreases the body's ability to form new fat cells.
