Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most popular football players in the world. Occasionally, photos from his childhood make their way onto the internet. The player's museum in Portuguese Funchal posted such a photo on Instagram, drawing admiration from his fans.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo has amassed a great fortune over his successful football career, his beginnings were exceedingly humble. CR7 was born on the Portuguese island of Madeira, specifically in Funchal. He spent the first years of his life in extreme poverty, which he has discussed several times in interviews.

Ronaldo was only 12 years old when he moved away from his family and relocated to Lisbon, joining the youth teams of the famous Sporting CP; the player's museum in his native Funchal decided to remind him of this event.

The photo was met with an enthusiastic reception from the football player's fans. It's enough to say that it gained over 220,000 views within a day. Ronaldo himself shared this post on his Instastories.

Ronaldo plays in the Arabian Al-Nassr and proves that at 39 years old, he is still in excellent form. Suffice it to say that the Portuguese scored 36 goals and made 12 assists in 37 matches for his team in all competitions.

His contract with the club is valid until the end of next season. The star's contract is for an astronomical amount of around £172 million per year. His income also includes lucrative sponsorship deals and numerous businesses the iconic football player runs.
