The search for longevity and eternal youth has fascinated humanity for centuries. Contemporary methods include both natural ways and extreme techniques. Bryan Johnson spends millions of dollars on anti-ageing procedures, including blood infusions from his son. In contrast to these extravagant methods, Brandon Miles May, a 35-year-old medical copywriter from Detroit, presents his simple and effective ways to maintain a youthful appearance, which can inspire anyone.

How to look younger at 35? Brandon reveals his secrets

Brandon says his secret is simple: avoiding alcohol, sun protection, and a positive attitude. “When I go to the airport security ask me who old I am. They do a double take. The age people think I am ranges but it can be 15 or 16 or 18 to 19,” says Brandon, quoted by the British agency SWNS.

One of the critical elements Brandon points out is his diet, which mainly consists of plants, fish, and fruit. Since he turned 19, he has given up sugars, grains, and carbohydrates and instead chooses low-mercury fish and organic food. At 13 I was already starting to become aware of longevity and anti-ageing. I was really into nutrition at that stage and keeping my body young,” he recalls.

From a young age, Brandon has avoided alcohol and sunlight. "I attribute not drinking to my youthful appearance. (It is) Really embodying the feeling of youth. I think it has helped. I think and see myself as young,” he explains. The 35-year-old always avoids the sun, uses sunscreen, wears a hood or a visor on his head, and wears physical covers on his hands. “I've been staying out of sunlight my whole life. I wear a hoodie to block the sun and use physical coverings on the backs of my hands,” he explains.

"Living forever isn't a priority. It's about maintaining my health"

Contrary to popular belief, Brandon avoids intense exercise. “I don't go heavy on exercise. Too much exercise can cause stress on the body - it can age the body. I keep my exercise moderate and gentle - a walk, yoga, and some strength training,” he says.

Brandon believes that his youthful appearance is also a result of his youthful approach to life. “Feeling young is part of looking young. Living forever isn't a priority. It's about maintaining my health,” he argues. He also emphasises that he looks better than 10 years ago and feels physically and emotionally young.

Despite his rigorous lifestyle, Brandon doesn't give up on small pleasures. Every day, he enjoys dark chocolate with 92-100% cocoa. He allows himself more during outings to the city as well. “I'm pretty flexible too. If I go out for dinner, I'll have some bread and olive oil,” the 35-year-old concludes.

Brandon Miles May proves that a healthy lifestyle and proper habits can significantly influence our appearance and well-being. His methods are simple but effective, making them worthwhile to adopt to maintain a youthful appearance longer.
