Borussia unexpectedly advanced to the Champions League final. Thousands of their fans want to fly to the match in London, but many do not have passports. Under these circumstances, the Dortmund office is working at increased capacity.

The decisive match for the Champions League trophy will be held on Saturday, 1 June, at 21:00 GMT. Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid have advanced to the final. The Spanish team will be the favourite, but Borussia has enjoyed causing surprises this season.

The German team secured their advancement first in the "group of death". In the knockout phase, they then eliminated PSV Eindhoven, Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. The victorious rematch in Paris took place on 7 May, and it was on that day Borussia fans began seriously planning the trip to London for the final.

Some of them realized they did not have a valid passport in their desk drawer, and having one is necessary to get to the United Kingdom after Brexit. Understandably, most Germans in the middle of the European Union do not have valid passports.

Borussia fans rushed en masse to the office in Dortmund. Getting a ticket for the match and arranging transport became trivial compared to getting a passport. Tens of thousands of fans from Germany will definitely be in London, and possibly many more.

The passport office in Dortmund faced one of the biggest challenges in recent years, but it is trying to address the problem. Employees agreed to extra shifts and worked at increased capacity, all to prepare temporary passports for Borussia fans. Some employees are serving office visitors in club shirts.

London can confidently prepare for an invasion of fans in yellow and black colours. Borussia last played in the Champions League final in 2013, so the upcoming match is a celebration for their fans.
