"Donald Trump refers to himself as a political prisoner and blames you directly. What’s your response to that, sir?" asked a journalist as Joe Biden was leaving the conference. The US President stopped and looked in her direction but did not answer the question.

In a short video clip shared by the independent Belarusian portal Nexta on platform X, Joe Biden is seen heading towards the exit after the conference. It is then that one of the journalists directed her questions towards him:

"Donald Trump refers to himself as a political prisoner and blames you directly. What’s your response to that, sir?" the woman asked.

At this moment, the US President stopped, turned towards the journalists, and smiled enigmatically. However, he did not say anything and, after a moment of meaningful silence, walked on.

Joe biden on Donald Trump: No one is above the law

Earlier Biden commented on Thursday's court verdict in Donald Trump's criminal case.

"The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed. Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself. "It was a state case, not a federal case, and it was heard by a jury of 12 citizens, 12 Americans, 12 people like you," Biden said during a speech at the White House.

Commenting on the former US President's words about the process being "rigged," he stated that "it is reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible for anyone to say that everything is rigged just because they don't like the verdict." - Our justice system has endured for almost 250 years and is literally the cornerstone of America. Our justice system should be respected. And we should never allow anyone to tear it down - he said.

Trump had previously stated that the trial was orchestrated by "Biden and his people," and he called the judge handling the case corrupt and a "devil."

On Thursday, the jury in the New York State Court on Manhattan unanimously found Trump guilty of all 34 charges of falsifying business records to illegally influence the 2016 election. The jurors found that Trump broke the law in trying to hide a payment of $170,000 to keep porn actress Stormy Daniels silent about their alleged affair. Daniels was set to tell this story to the media just before the 2016 election. The sentence will be determined by Judge Juan Merchan during a hearing on July 11 at 9:00 AM EST.
