Everything indicates that Arne Slot will become the new manager of Liverpool. For this transfer, "The Reds" will have to shell out a significant amount of money.

At the end of January 2024, Juergen Klopp gave the world surprising news. The German manager announced that his journey with Liverpool would end after the current season.

Reason? Klopp admitted that he feels he does not have enough energy to lead the team in the next season. Therefore, the 56-year-old coach will take a year off from work. It is also known that he will never work for another club in England other than Liverpool.

Let's remember that the German has been the manager of Liverpool since the 2015/16 season. With this club, he won the English Championship and the Champions League. Currently, the team he leads is third in the Premier League table. Although his contract is valid until June 2026, it is already known that it will not be fulfilled.

This transfer won't be cheap

After Klopp announced that he would leave Liverpool, the club's authorities quickly started looking for his successor. In the media space, many names were mentioned. Among those linked with the job for "The Reds" were Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, and Ruben Amorim. However, everything seems to indicate that the choice fell on Arne Slot (more on this can be found HERE).

Since 2021, the Dutchman has been the coach of Feyenoord Rotterdam. With this club, he has achieved many successes. His proteges reached the final of the Europa Conference League in 2022 and, in April 2024, they won the Dutch Cup. Some time ago, however, he admitted that he would like a change in his life.

"I would like to become the new manager of Liverpool. My decision is clear. Feyenoord and Liverpool are negotiating this matter. I'm waiting for the outcome. I'm certain, waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement," he said at one time.

Now, almost everything is clear. The transfer of the 45-year-old coach will not be among the cheapest. As reported by the thesun.co.uk website, Liverpool will have to pay £7.7 million plus an additional £1.7 million in bonuses, making a total of about £9.4 million. This means that the Dutchman will be in the TOP4 in the ranking of the most expensive coaches in history.
