Many reports about alleged attacks and aggression from the Ukrainian side, released by Russian and Belarusian media, are likely not accurate. These reports could be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.

This was the 21st parade in honour of Victory Day, watched by Putin as the President of Russia. It was undeniably one of the most modest.

A parade participant lost a shoe

The Russian Ministry of Defence had previously stated that over 9,000 soldiers and about 70 pieces of military equipment were set to participate in the parade.

A parade marched through Red Square. As seen in the video, one of the soldiers lost his shoe during the march. None of the participants bent down to pick it up.

An exeptionally modest parade

Only one tank, a T-34, drove through Red Square. Traditionally, as it does every year, this machine that participated in World War II led the motorized forces show. This time, it was exceptionally modest.

Several armoured vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles also passed through. The crowd admired the Iskander-M missile complexes, S-400 air defence systems, and Yars strategic missile systems. The parade at Red Square concluded with an aerial display.

Who accompanied Putin?

Nine foreign leaders accompanied Putin in the stands. Among them were leaders from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the Presidents of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
