Actress Cameron Diaz makes surprising comeback in spy thriller
Loose tracksuit, no makeup, and unkempt hair. An ordinary mum spends time with her boisterous daughter. The Hollywood star announced that she now wants to dedicate herself to her family and was not lying. But she made an exception for one actor.

The American actress made her screen debut three decades ago. Her debut took place in 1994 in the popular comedy "The Mask" alongside Jim Carrey, which marked the beginning of her path to fame. Although she starred in many productions, fans most associate her with roles such as one of "Charlie's Angels", Julie Gianni in "Vanilla Sky", or Amanda in "The Holiday". In 2014, the actress suspended her career to dedicate herself to her family.
In one of the last films she appeared in before pausing her career, "Annie" directed by Will Gluck, she acted alongside Jamie Foxx. The story was about a young girl from a foster family who unexpectedly comes under the care of a wealthy mayoral candidate. As gossip media reported at that time, it was Foxx's behaviour that allegedly contributed to Diaz's decision to end her career.
The actress loudly denied those rumours, emphasising that Jamie was a great partner on set and that her decision had entirely different reasons.
Friends on and off the set
“A lot of people don’t know this, but after Cameron and I did Any Given Sunday and Annie together, we became friends in real life – and I’ve been begging her to come play with me again. We all know there’s just something about her…,” Jamie Foxx confessed. Now his dream is coming true after a decade because in November, a very significantly titled film will premiere on Netflix: "Back in Action".
"Back in Action". What's the film about?
We know only this much about the plot: Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx), many years after leaving their jobs as CIA agents and starting a family, find themselves back in the world of spies when their identities are exposed. As you can see, this is not a novel idea, and viewers will get another version of something they have seen dozens of times but with new faces.
The new life of Cameron Diaz
Years ago, the actress announced that she wanted to focus on her family, and these were not empty words. Although she has returned to work (for now, we are talking about one project) and will likely appear on a few red carpets during the premiere, you won't find her daily on the red carpets or at industry banquets.
In 2015, Cameron Diaz married Good Charlotte band member Benji Madden. In 2019, they became parents to a girl named Raddix. In March this year, they surprised everyone by announcing they had welcomed a son named Cardinal. Diaz turned 51 years old, so it is suspected that the parents used a surrogate.
The actress now spends her days dedicating herself to her family. When paparazzi catch her on the street, she is most often in the company of her husband and daughter. Like recently, when she was running after her little one. No makeup beneath glasses and comfortable clothing, it would be hard to recognise the Hollywood diva in her. She looks like all the mums on the playground. Are you looking forward to her return to films?
