A healthier twist on the beloved pumpkin spice latte
The pumpkin spice latte is a true symbol of autumn – an aromatic coffee with a hint of pumpkin, cinnamon, and spice. However, the classic version of this drink can be quite high in calories. For anyone who wants to savour the taste of autumn in a healthier way, I have prepared a lighter pumpkin spice latte recipe that's full of flavour but significantly reduced in calories.

Autumn is when many people eagerly anticipate the return of the pumpkin spice latte. However, the traditional version with a lot of sugar and syrups is not an ideal choice for those watching their waistlines. That's why it's worthwhile trying the lighter version of this classic – it's just as aromatic and creamy, but considerably lower in calories. It's the perfect drink to enjoy without guilt!
The light version of pumpkin spice latte recipe
The autumn drink in a fit version is a way to enjoy the taste of a seasonal classic without excess sugar and calories. The light version of pumpkin spice latte is an excellent suggestion for autumn afternoons – warming, aromatic, and healthy.
Ingredients:
- 240 ml of strong coffee (or espresso),
- 120 ml of almond milk (or another low-calorie plant-based milk),
- 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree,
- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice (a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves),
- 1 teaspoon of agave syrup or honey (optional, to taste),
- a dash of vanilla extract (optional).
The fit pumpkin spice latte tastes best warm, but it can also be served cold with ice cubes.
Preparation:
- In a saucepan, heat the almond milk with pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice, stirring until the ingredients combine and the drink slightly thickens.
- Add agave syrup or honey (if using) and a dash of vanilla extract.
- Pour into a cup with pre-brewed coffee, stir until the drink has a uniform consistency. Optionally, garnish the drink with a pinch of cinnamon on top.
Additional tips:
- For a creamier drink, you can use oat milk, which naturally thickens the beverage and adds a velvety texture,
- You can add a bit more if you prefer a more intense spice flavour.
Why choose the lighter version?
The fit version of pumpkin spice latte allows you to enjoy the taste of your favourite autumn drink without worrying about extra calories. Instead of full-fat milk and syrup, we opt for lighter alternatives that are low in calories but equally aromatic. Pumpkin provides fibre and vitamins, and spices give the drink a warming character that fits perfectly with the cool autumn days.
