Zelensky warns of Putin's ambitions beyond Ukraine's borders
Volodymyr Zelensky has warned of Putin's plans. In his view, more provocations from Russia can be expected soon. Putin is doing everything necessary to stop this war. He will go further and consider other countries, warned the President of Ukraine. He assessed that Putin would try to "intimidate" Poland and the Baltic states.
Zelensky shared his concerns during a meeting with the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, in Kyiv. According to the Ukrainian president, the Russian dictator may once again try to involve Belarus in the conflict with Ukraine.
"With Putin’s ambitions and the actions we see today, it is evident that he has no intention of stopping this war. He will continue pushing forward, considering other countries as potential targets. Many in Europe, and possibly the United States, will view this as an intimidation tactic targeting Poland, Lithuania, and other Baltic partners," Zelensky alarmed.
In his opinion, "Putin really wants" Belarusian troops to actively engage in military actions against Ukraine.
Zelensky asks for support. "It's part of your defence"
The President of Ukraine once again appealed for support in defence against Russia.
"If you don't want to be spending your entire budget on defence in the future, invest the necessary percentage today and take steps to strengthen your defence now," stated Zelensky, addressing Western allies.
