Zelensky condemns russian attacks as 'terrorist crimes'
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, condemned the recent Russian attacks, which resulted in the deaths of at least four people, as yet another act of terrorism.
Volodymyr Zelensky sharply criticised the latest Russian assaults on Ukraine, which occurred overnight and on Saturday morning. These attacks led to at least four fatalities. Zelensky labelled these actions as another instance of Russian terrorism and once again called for increased pressure on Moscow.
Last night, Russia launched an attack on our cities using various types of weapons: missiles, attack drones, and aerial bombs. Another wave of terrorist crimes, stated Zelensky.
The most severe attack took place in Poltava, where a Russian missile demolished a four-storey residential building, killing three people and injuring ten, including a child.
Destruction in many regions
The attacks also affected other regions of Ukraine, such as Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv oblasts. In Kharkiv, one person was killed in a drone attack. Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. The President of Ukraine stressed that each terrorist attack underscores the need for greater support in defending against Russian terror.
Every such act of terror proves that we need greater support in defending against Russian terror. Every air defense system, every interceptor missile, means a life saved. It is crucial that our partners take action, fulfill our agreements, and increase pressure on Russia, emphasized Zelensky.
Operational Command issued a statement
On Saturday morning, the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that "following the attack by the Russian Federation, executing strikes on targets including those in the west of Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation operations in our airspace have commenced".
Three hours later, a statement was released on the conclusion of military operations in the airspace. The statement emphasised that no violations of our country's airspace were observed. The military assures that the situation is being constantly monitored.
