Susan Wojcicki served as the CEO of YouTube from 2014 to 2023. With Polish roots, she courageously fought non-small cell lung cancer for the past two years.
Information about the death of the former YouTube CEO was conveyed by her husband, Denis Troper. In a post published on Facebook, he shared details about the illness Wojcicki faced. "Susan was not only my best friend and life partner but also a brilliant mind, loving mother, and dear friend to many people," he wrote.
Susan Wojcicki was also remembered by Sundar Pichai. In a farewell published on X (formerly known as Twitter), he emphasised her significance in Google's history. "She was an incredible person, leader, and friend who had a huge impact on the world. I am one of the countless people working at Google who benefited from knowing her. We will miss her dearly," he stated.
Susan Wojcicki made a mark in Google's history from the very beginning. 1998 she rented a garage to Sergey Brin and Larry Page, where Google Inc. was founded. From 1999, she led Google's marketing department. In 2011, Susan Wojcicki was ranked 16th, and in 2012, 25th on Forbes magazine's list of the 100 most powerful women.
