"Wicked" is an electrifying tale about the extraordinary friendship between Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch). In the untold story of the Witches of Oz, we will see Cynthia Erivo, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award winner, as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

Due to her green skin, Elphaba is an extraordinary woman who has yet to discover her true power. In the role of Glinda, we will see Grammy award-winning superstar Ariana Grande, who has yet to discover her true heart.

Both protagonists are students at Shiz University in the magical Land of Oz and form a deep friendship. However, after meeting the Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads, and their lives diverge completely.

Glinda yearns for popularity and dreams of power, while Elphaba remains true to herself and those around her. Her stance, however, leads to unexpected consequences for her future. Extraordinary adventures in the Land of Oz ultimately guide them towards their destinies as the Good Witch of the South and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The feature-length adaptation of the untold story of the Witches of Oz will be directed by the dynamic creator Jon M. Chu ("Crazy Rich Asians"). "Wicked," based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire, has been adapted for the screen by screenwriter Winnie Holzman and legendary Oscar®-winning ("The Prince of Egypt") composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

The film will be released in cinemas on 6 December 2024.
