The Daily Mail reported that the actor's children have mixed feelings about their father's new relationship.

Oscar and Ava, Jackman's children, have to split their time between their parents and get used to Sutton's presence, who has a seven-year-old daughter, Emily. A source from the "Daily Mail" emphasises that the children find it difficult to accept the new situation, yet they also feel guilty if they get too close to Sutton.

The actor hopes that time will help ease the tensions in the family, and recently, there's no shortage of those. In a statement, the couple emphasised that they parted ways amicably and with respect. "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives," they wrote in a joint statement in 2023.
However, Deborra-Lee Furness did not hide that her husband's departure was a sensitive topic. On 26 October, Furness liked a video by gossip blogger Tasha Lustig on Instagram. The content suggests that Jackman plans to "delicately reveal" his new relationship with Foster. Furness's friend, Amanda de Cadenet, commented on this post, saying, "You are on point with this one ☝ . My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment fyi!".
According to the "Daily Mail," the ex-wife of the "Wolverine" star feels deceived by finding out about the relationship with Sutton last. Her dissatisfaction is compounded by Jackman's close friends, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who did not inform her about the new relationship with her former partner.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are trying to keep their relationship out of the media spotlight. The couple met while working on the musical The Music Man. Jackman played Harold Hill, and Foster played Marian Paroo. The show premiered on Broadway in February 2022 and was performed at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York until January 2023.
"Us Weekly" magazine quotes a source close to Foster: "Sutton and Hugh's relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced. A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap."
