In Nizhny Tagil, Russia, police arrested a man at a computer cafe. "He was playing Counter-Strike as a terrorist, and then real special forces jumped on him, not virtual ones," highlights a witness to the event. Why did the services brutally arrest the young man?

Russian police officers, with the participation of special forces, arrested a man at the CyberPride computer club in Nizhny Tagil in the Sverdlovsk region. This information was reported by the E1.ru portal, citing an eyewitness who shared a video recording of the arrest.

He played Counter-Strike as a terrorist, and then real special forces jumped on him. It was very unexpected, said the eyewitness.

According to the published recording, several officers in bulletproof vests approached one of the men as he sat in front of a computer, and the special forces physically laid him on the floor. At the same time, a club employee pulled out a phone to document everything.

It is not exactly known why the arrest took place. When publishing the article on the Meduza portal, law enforcement in the Sverdlovsk region did not comment on the player's arrest. Perhaps he was suspected of something, and the services decided on a show of force. In Russia today, this could mean virtually anything.

A popular game worldwide

Every computer game enthusiast knows this game. Counter-Strike is a network game based on teamwork. A player can embody an anti-terrorist or a terrorist. The anti-terrorist side includes special units such as Seal Team 6, GSG9, SAS, and GIGN.

The game offers several varied gameplay modes—three basic ones are hostage rescue, planting or defusing a bomb, and assassinating a VIP. In addition to these basic options, maps that simulate other scenarios are also created.

"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" is the latest incarnation of the famous action network game. The rules are simple: We have two teams. One has to plant a bomb and defend it, and the other must prevent the planting or defuse the bomb. A round can also end if one of the teams eliminates the opponents.
