Vanessa Paradis was born on 22nd December 1972 and made her stage debut at just seven years old. Her song "Joe le Taxi" not only caused a real stir on the charts but also sparked considerable controversy. It brought the then 14-year-old girl fame and recognition. Unfortunately, with popularity, she also faced immense criticism.

Scandal followed scandal

"Joe le Taxi" is a song about the life of a woman working as a taxi driver who chauffeurs those enjoying nightlife in LGBT clubs. Given that Vanessa Paradis, who sang it, was still a child, a genuine scandal erupted in the country. Nevertheless, the song gained a vast fan base worldwide.

The young artist was labelled a "lolita" by journalists, all because her image differed markedly from that of her peers. Vanessa Paradis often wore short skirts and bold, striking makeup that attracted attention.

There were instances when women, upon encountering her on the street, spat at her feet, and parents of schoolmates petitioned for her removal from the school.

In 1998, she met Johnny Depp, with whom she had two children. Though they seemed to be a happy family, in 2012, the couple announced their separation. Rumours suggested that the actor had been unfaithful with Amber Heard.

Paradis wasn't alone for long. In 2018, she married director Samuel Benchetrit, with whom she remains today. The star fiercely guards her privacy. She rarely appears at industry events and doesn't post family photos online. Occasionally, she shares news of projects she's involved in.
