US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, in an official report, stated, "This joint action sends a clear message to the Houthi rebels that they will face further consequences if they do not stop their illegal attacks on international shipping and warships in the Red Sea. We will not hesitate to defend lives and the free flow of commerce in one of the most significant waterways globally."

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Sunday morning that the US military also succeeded in destroying an anti-ship cruise missile in Yemen. This missile was planned to be launched towards ships in the Red Sea.

"US forces have identified a cruise missile in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and determined that it poses an immediate threat to United States Navy ships and commercial ships in the region," the report claimed.

Support for the strike was provided by Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
