Elon Musk's private life has sparked interest for years. The number of children he has remains the subject of ongoing speculation. It's clear that X Æ A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus have several siblings, and one of the billionaire's children wants nothing to do with him.
Like many rich and famous people, Elon Musk has long been the focus of intense media interest. This attention extends beyond his business pursuits to encompass his personal life. The billionaire’s eccentric nature means many aspects of his life are mysterious.

Musk has been tackling the demographic crisis for quite some time. The number of children he has is a matter of media conjecture. Bloomberg claims he has fathered twelve children, including three with singer Grimes and another three with Shivon Zilis, his company's head of unique projects. Elon consistently refrains from commenting on this topic.
The names he and Grimes have chosen for their children also evoke strong reactions. The couple's son was meant to be called X Æ A-Xii, with the other children named Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus, or simply Tau, as noted in Walter Isaacson's biography. The second child's name was later reported to have been changed to "Y" or "Why" or simply "?", as the artist herself mentioned.

Meanwhile, Shivon Zilis, like Elon, chooses not to comment on the matter. Thanks to her, twins Strider and Azure were born, as well as another child whose name has not yet been made public. The remaining children are from Elon’s marriage to Justine Musk. In 2004, twins Griffin and Vivian were born through in vitro fertilisation, followed by Kai, Saxon, and Damian two years later.
This gives him eleven children, yet the media mentions twelve for a reason. In 2002, Elon and Justine's son, Nevada Alexander Musk, was born, but sadly, he died just 10 weeks after birth. The billionaire is reported to have mentioned that "the firstborn died in his arms", according to Business Insider India.
Much has also been written about Musk’s relationships with both his children and their mothers. In October 2023, there were reports that Grimes would be meeting him in court regarding custody of their eldest son. He also has no contact with his daughter Vivian, who has transitioned. The billionaire lamented on Jordan Peterson's podcast that he had "lost a son" who was "killed by the woke virus of the mind". Vivian offers a different perspective:
