Karoline Leavitt told journalists in the White House press room that the conference would not take place. At that time, an agreement on minerals was also supposed to be signed.

Shortly afterwards, Volodymyr Zelensky left the White House, without Donald Trump accompanying him. The President of Ukraine got into a limousine and drove off. He did not answer questions from Ukrainian journalists about whether he signed the minerals agreement.

Trump: Zelensky will be able to return when he is ready for peace

Earlier, Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform: "I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE," stated the US President.

According to him, the President of Ukraine "disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace."

US President Donald Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky did not sign the minerals agreement. Earlier this week, both presidents confirmed that they would meet in Washington on Friday. First, Trump announced, "It's now confirmed, and we're going to be signing an agreement." Following this, Zelensky declared that he was going to the USA but still expected security guarantees for his country to effectively defend against Russia in the future.

The Friday meeting in the Oval Office was tense from a certain point. Trump, among other things, accused Zelensky of playing with "World War III."
