Ukrainian strike on Russian ammo depot sparks local emergency
In the Tikhoretsk area of Krasnodar Krai, a local "state of emergency" has been declared, reports the independent portal Meduza, citing regional authorities. This move was triggered by a Ukrainian attack on an ammunition depot near Tikhoretsk.

The local state of emergency was announced by the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev. The official stated that there is no threat to residents, and the decision was made to quickly address "all issues related to the incident."
As he conveyed, 1,200 residents were evacuated from the Tikhoretsk area in the morning. According to another local official, Sergey Shtrikov, they will be able to return home in two days once activities related to securing the area are completed, reported Meduza.
Earlier, the Ukrainian General Staff reported successful attacks on two Russian ammunition depots - in the Tikhoretsk area and in the Tver Oblast.
Near Tikhoretsk, located in the south of Russia, about 150 kilometres from Krasnodar, one of the three largest Russian depots was reportedly hit. According to the Ukrainian side, at the time of the attack, a rail shipment carrying at least 2,000 tonnes of ammunition, including from North Korea, was present. The attack resulted in a fire, followed by the detonation of the munitions. A radar station was also attacked.
According to information from the Ukrainian General Staff, the second successful attack targeted the 23rd Ammunition Arsenal of the Main Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence, located near the village of Oktyabrsky in the Tver Oblast.
Earlier, Governor Kondratyev reported a Ukrainian attack that occurred during the night. He stated that "two drones were destroyed by air defence and electronic warfare forces" and that the cause of the fire (which then spread to explosive materials, causing detonations) were "fragments" of the drones.
