Ukrainian forces expose further Russian war crimes via drone footage

"This morning, within the area of responsibility of the Chortycja military unit, Russians once again demonstrated their disregard for International Humanitarian Law by shooting two Ukrainian prisoners of war," said the press service statement issued by the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The Ukrainian Ground Forces released a film shot from a drone showing an execution.

The statement includes a drone video, showing soldiers in trenches. One stands with a rifle in front of two others who are offering no resistance. He then aims the gun at them, shooting one first and then the other. When the soldiers fall to the ground, he fires additional shots.

There is no precise information about the video's exact location. The Unian website reports that social media posts suggest that the incident may have occurred near the village of Vesele, located northeast of occupied Soledar.

Previously, Ukrainian media reported a separate war crime committed by Russians in captured Avdiivka. It is alleged that the occupying forces shot six captured Ukrainian soldiers. The Ukrainian portal DeepState reported that the wounded soldiers could not escape the encirclement on their own and remained at their positions. When the Russians arrived, they purportedly shot them.
