Ukrainian flags on Russian homes: An unexpected wartime tactic

Ukrainian flags on Russian homes during the war? As demonstrated by the residents of the border Belgorod region, this is possible and advisable. Interestingly, the region governor has authorised this practice so people can more easily avoid Ukrainian aerial attacks.
The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for two and a half years, yet it continues to surprise. As with most such curiosities, two elements remain constant: the first being the Ukrainian drone and the second the indomitable ingenuity of the Russians.
This explosive mixture has been a source of valuable analysis of the modern battlefield for over a dozen months. Due to the high effectiveness of small commercial drones used by the Ukrainian army, there has been a proportionally growing number of attempts to stop this deadly weapon.
Consequently, occasionally, videos appear on the internet showcasing the skills of Ukrainian soldiers operating these machines. However, the Russians also show their ways of combating these machines, sometimes with varying degrees of success, which ends in their victory.

The problem with Ukrainian drones does not concern only the soldiers fighting at the front line. The fear of the machines is also indicated by the residents of the border Belgorod region, which is also systematically attacked by the Ukrainian army. It is there that supplies crucial for military operations are located.
It is no wonder, then, that to sleep without fear of a sudden attack, the Russians had to come up with something. The way to deal with the drones was to hang Ukrainian flags on their homes to confuse the drone operators.
The method appears to be effective, as indicated by the lack of reaction from the Russian police, who the governor instructed to ignore the flags. Otherwise, displaying the symbol of Ukraine in such a prominent way would have resulted in unpleasant and often brutal consequences.
