"Marty Supreme" is loosely based on the life of Marty Reisman, an indisputable talent in the 1950s. Reisman won the U.S. men's singles championship twice, in 1958 and 1960, along with over 20 international and national titles. The film's storyline follows Reisman's journey, beginning with playing for bets in Manhattan and culminating in him winning 22 championship titles. Notably, he became the oldest to win national racket sports competitions at 67.

Images of the duo in action have surfaced online. The shots feature Tyler, the Creator, driving one of New York's iconic yellow taxis, with Chalamet seated in the passenger seat. While the film, centered around the unconventional ping-pong champion Marty Reisman, remains mysterious, the plot details are yet to be revealed. However, fans can detect a 1950s style in Chalamet's appearance, hinting that the film is set in that era.

In addition to the young actor and rapper, the film will also star Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher as Marty's mother, and Sandra Bernhard. The producers include Josh Safdie, Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas, with the film produced by Elara Pictures and studio A24. Filming is underway in New York, providing an authentic urban backdrop for the movie.

Director Josh Safdie, known for films like "Uncut Gems" and "Good Time," which were co-created with his brother Benny, embarks on a new challenge with this project. He also recently directed Adam Sandler's special comedy program "Love You" on Netflix and is collaborating with Sandler on another project set in the sports world, focusing on baseball.

"Marty Supreme" is anticipated to be one of the most intriguing films of the coming year, blending unique style with fresh ideas. Fans of both Tyler and Chalamet are eagerly awaiting its premiere in 2025, and the first images have only heightened their interest in this unconventional project. A24, famous for its innovative productions, is sure to add to the film's distinctive character.
