Yusuf Dikeç, along with his partner Şevval İlayda Tarhan, won the silver medal in the mixed 10-metre air pistol event. During the competition, the 51-year-old became famous for his unusual stance.

During shooting, the athlete kept one hand in his pocket, and instead of professional headphones and special visors, he only used corrective glasses and earplugs. He looked quite laid-back.

At that moment, everyone said I seemed very calm. But in reality, there was a storm raging inside - said Dikeç in an interview with Reuters.
I think my shooting posture very well represented the spirit of Olympic fair play, simplicity, transparency, and naturalness. That's why it attracted so much attention - explained the representative of Turkey.

The relaxed posture of the Turkish representative was emulated by many during the Olympic Games. Among others, Armand Duplantis repeated it after breaking the world record in pole vaulting once again.

The silver in the air pistol shooting is one of the eight medals Turkey won in Paris. Their total haul is three silver medals and five bronze medals. In the medal standings, with 8 medals, they are in 64th place. Poland, with a haul of one gold, three silver, and five bronze medals, is in 40th place.
