The attack on Donald Trump caused a huge stir not only in the United States but around the world. Everyone condemned it, regardless of which side of the political spectrum they support. Trump himself admitted that he was saved by sheer luck because just before the assailant fired the shot, he tilted his head slightly to the side to look at the screen.

The most incredible thing was that I not only turned but also turned exactly at the right time and leaned back at the right angle. I survived thanks to luck or God — stated the Republican presidential candidate in an interview with the "New York Post".

Trump is not alone in his opinion. "He is the luckiest man in the world" - said Peggy Grande, a former assistant to President Ronald Reagan. According to the "Super Express" portal, the attack on Trump at the rally in Pennsylvania is compared to the attempt on Reagan's life, which took place in 1981, just a few days after he took office.

Grande, who is a California delegate to the ongoing Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, did not hide her admiration for Donald Trump's stance. She emphasised that Trump showed no sign of fear, even though he was injured. - What a warrior. To stand up and instinctively clench his fists, say: "Fight, fight, fight" - she said.

She added that Donald Trump puts himself in danger every time he decides to attend another campaign rally. She stressed that he does not do it for himself but "for the American people."

Attack on Donald Trump. Secret Service under fire

The attack on Donald Trump took place on 13 July during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at the president from a nearby building. The fact that the armed young man was able to fire a shot is seen by commentators and observers as a failure on the part of the Secret Service.

The assailant was killed. After the attack, the Secret Service issued a statement indicating that Crooks managed to fire several shots. The assailant's bullet caused the death of one of the rally participants. Two others were seriously injured.
