Trump's domestic agenda: Reversing Biden's orders in first week
Donald Trump will assume office as President of the United States in January. The Russian portal Insider analyses what the initial steps of the White House resident will be. According to them, his focus will not be on the war in Ukraine, but rather on domestic issues within the USA.
Donald Trump will become the 47th President of the United States. Although he has not yet been inaugurated, there is already speculation about the policies that the US leader will implement.
The issue of the war in Ukraine is of the utmost concern Poland. There have been leaks in the "Wall Street Journal" suggesting that Trump wishes to conclude the conflict by establishing a demilitarised zone along the current front line. The Russians would retain the occupied territory, while the United States, according to media reports, would continue to arm Ukraine. According to this vision, Western countries such as Poland, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are to ensure peace and stability with their own military along the future demarcation line.
The first steps of President Trump. Russians report on what he will do
The Russian Insider reports that Trump will concentrate on the country's internal policy within the first seven days. The portal reports via Fox News that in a week, the new president will annul 94 orders issued by Joe Biden.
According to Alexandra Filipenko, a Russian Americanist born in Moscow, Donald Trump plans to focus on three areas. The first will be public health. The new president intends to reverse the previous administration's approach. This could also affect Biden’s order regarding access to contraceptives.
The next issue is migration. According to Filipenko, Trump aims to repeal regulations regarding asylum acquisition and tighten migration policy. "The last comprehensive immigration law was passed in 1990, and American migration policy is based on presidential executive orders," the political scientist reminds. In her opinion, the issue of illegal migration to the USA is one of the reasons for Joe Biden's defeat.
The last significant issue is the regulation of artificial intelligence. Donald Trump desires the work on its development to continue uninterrupted. "He will probably repeal Biden’s memorandum on the use of artificial intelligence and related intelligence programs," Filipenko believes.
The inauguration of the new president will take place on 20th January 2025 at 5:00 GMT. Although Trump has announced that he can end the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day, it is certain that this process will take much longer and will require lengthy, multilateral negotiations.
