Donald Trump shared his plans via the social media platform Truth Social.
"Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a "shooter," or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else. Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:30 P.M. TODAY. Thank you! DJT," wrote the former president.
Failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump
Former US President Donald Trump was injured during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. Trump fell to the ground during his speech, holding his head, and was then escorted to his car by the Secret Service.
A bullet grazed Trump. The bullet that grazed Trump hit a 50-year-old firefighter standing near the former president. The man died at the scene. The services shot the assailant. Two other people were injured.
Trump's campaign headquarters announced that they will increase security measures and confirmed that the National Republican Convention in Milwaukee will take place as planned.
They emphasized that during this event, they will officially nominate our president to be the brave and fearless party candidate in the presidential elections scheduled for November 5th.
