When viral meets medical: TikToker's ear revelation sparks concern
A video has surfaced on TikTok from a certain creator. The young woman shared an honest confession with her followers, revealing that her ear occasionally detaches. Concerned, she asks internet users: "Do you all experience this too?"
TikTok is a treasure trove of intriguing content. On the platform, you can find videos on a wide range of topics. Many internet users often use it to self-diagnose their conditions or to discuss behaviours, seeing if others also face similar issues. The app allows for reaching a vast audience in a very short time. However, it's usually the most absurd content that goes viral. Occasionally, a lesser-known creator films material for their close-knit audience, which unexpectedly gains traction. This was the case for this particular creator.
Tiktoker complains about her ear detaching
Kalina Brodowska is a TikToker with nearly 30,000 followers. Her profile mostly features lifestyle content, and her videos usually garner around 10,000 views, sometimes peaking at 50,000. However, her latest video reached a significantly larger audience - over 110,000 users. In the recording, she decided to share a frightening confession with her followers.
- Do any of you experience your ear detaching occasionally? - she asked internet users. She then clarified: - In the sense that it doesn't detach completely [...]. It causes me immense pain and a burning sensation as if my ear is detaching - she then reassured her followers that, ultimately, the wound always heals.
Internet users share their discomfort
As it turned out, many internet users are or have been struggling with a similar issue. In the comments, they revealed: "I thought it was just me," "How can you get rid of it?", "I experienced something similar and it was also dry. I have a cream for it, but it needs to be applied daily. I'll give the name tomorrow if I don't forget, just remind me", "'torn ear' my son had when he was strongly allergic to cow's milk protein", "I had it quite frequently when I was suffering from active psoriasis", "when I recently had a cracked ear it stung and hurt". Of course, TikTok is not a suitable place for diagnosing all health issues, and it is best to consult a specialist for any ailments.
