A Trump campaign representative told AP journalists that the Republican candidate will not meet with the Ukrainian president.
Earlier, Zelensky announced that he wanted to personally discuss his "plan for victory and defeating Russia" with Trump.
There will be no one-on-one meeting. "The USA should get out of this war."
The United States must "get out" of the Russian-Ukrainian war, but the White House has no plan on how to do it, Donald Trump previously argued during one of his campaign rallies. "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have dragged us into this war, and now they can't get out of it," he thundered, emphasizing that Russia "fights wars to the end."
"As someone once told me, they defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon. That's what they do. They fight. And it's not pleasant," he said.
Moscow Times points out that most likely "no one told Trump that Russia lost the Crimean War, the Russo-Japanese War, World War I, and the war in Afghanistan."
Zelensky's mission in the USA
The Ukrainian president flew to the United States to participate in the UN General Assembly and present the plan, goal, and specific steps to ensure Ukraine's victory. He will discuss this with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday. "Separate meetings will be held at the White House on the same day," informed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
Addressing the UN General Assembly on Tuesday at 3:00 pm Greenwich Time, Biden said that the war unleashed by Vladimir Putin had not achieved its main goal. "Putin's war has failed at its core aim. He set out to destroy Ukraine, but Ukraine is still free," the American leader said. He called on the UN to support Ukraine until "until it achieves a just and lasting peace".
