Trump aims to dismantle Congress budget control in bid for power
Donald Trump announced that if he wins the election, he will strip Congress of some fund allocation powers and become the President of the United States with the most considerable control over the federal budget in history, writes the "Washington Post" on Friday.

Washinton Post assesses that this could destabilize the established balance between the executive and legislative branches, depending on how Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court react to such attempts.
The American Constitution entrusts the control over state finances to Congress. Still, Trump's campaign staff believes the president should have significantly more power in this area than currently.
Donald Trump's promises
Trump also promises that if he wins the election, he will press Congress to repeal the 1974 law restricting the president's right to spend federal money without Congress's consent and to block already approved expenditures. This law was passed in response to President Richard Nixon's abuses.
Trump maintains that repealing the 1974 law will allow him to "quickly curb inflation and reduce the deficit."
The Axios portal recently wrote that Trump does not hide his desire to "expand and strengthen presidential power at every level of the administration" if he wins the election.
