  • During the night from Friday to Saturday, Israel conducted an attack on Iran. The strike was described as a retaliation for Iranian shelling on 1st October. The IDF spokesman stated that precision strikes were carried out on military targets. It was reported that the United States was informed in advance of the planned attack.
  • It was also a challenging night for the residents of Kyiv. A Russian drone struck a residential skyscraper in the capital of Ukraine. The assault resulted in the death of a teenage girl and injuries to five individuals. Emergency services fought fires on the building's upper floors. There are further reports of intense Russian shelling in Dnipro.
  • Gangsters shot and killed prosecutor Marcelo Vasconez and a police officer assigned to his protection in Ecuador on Friday, according to local media. Vasconez was involved in cases of international organised crime. The attack took place in front of the prosecutor's office in Manta, a Pacific coastal city in western Ecuador. A burnt-out car was found nearby, which the assailants likely used, reported the Primicias portal.
  • The Venezuelan party Popular Will (Voluntad Popular - PV), which opposes the government of Nicolas Maduro, announced on Friday that one of its founders was found dead after reportedly being abducted by state services. "We hold the regime of Nicolas Maduro responsible for this killing," the party stated, also naming two local government officials believed to be involved in Santos' death.
  • By Friday evening, 28 suspected members of a criminal group were detained by Portuguese and Spanish police forces. The gang specialised in smuggling various types of drugs from Portugal to Spain. According to Portuguese police, the dismantled criminal group operated discreetly and in a "sophisticated manner," primarily transporting drugs via maritime routes.
  • The first snow fell in the Castelo Branco district in eastern Portugal. This unusual weather for this time of year appeared a few days after an equally rare October heatwave with temperatures nearing 30 degrees Celsius. Along with the warm weather and the significant drying of the land due to the recent lack of rain, dozens of grass and forest fires broke out in Portugal.
