Tragic death of 14‑year-old Scarlett: Parents charged with murder

Scarlett was just 14 years old and—as her school's teachers reveal—she was a charming girl with great humour. Her parents killed her, murdered a few hours after she posed in a video on TikTok. The police are investigating the case.

The tragic events occurred in Darlington, County Durham, on Friday, 5 July. Shortly after a video recorded by the teenager appeared online on her TikTok, the police received a report of a tragic incident at the girl's family home.

It turned out that the teenager had been stabbed. The perpetrators turned out to be her parents.

48-year-old Simon Vickers and 44-year-old Sarah Hall appeared in Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Monday, charged with murder.

During a brief hearing, the court heard that there had been an "incident" resulting in their 14-year-old daughter being "fatally stabbed."

The court remanded Scarlett's parents in custody and set the trial date for 5 August at 10 am at Teesside Crown Court.

After Scarlett's death, flowers were left outside her home by her school friends and the girl's loved ones. In an interview with "The Sun", the headteacher of the school that the girl attended said, "Scarlett was a lovely girl with a great sense of humour. She was always immaculately turned out, respectful and polite."

She also added that the teenager was famous among her friends and would be greatly missed by the school community.
