Tourists dance as inferno rages: Viral video shocks onlookers
While the blaze engulfs everything in its path on the hill above Sutomore (Montenegro), young people are playing and dancing in a circle on the promenade at the foot of the hill. In the background, the spreading fire can be seen. The shocking footage has gone viral.
On Tuesday evening (30 July), smoke began to rise over the tourist-popular resort in Sutomore in southern Montenegro. The fire broke out around noon on the hill and consumed much of the forest. Photos circulating on social media show its scale. The flames were growing violently with every moment.
"The fire above Sutomore is still out of control," reported our readers on holiday. Fortunately, the fire is spreading to the opposite side of the settlement, but the wind could change direction at any moment," reports 192.rs.
Four fire units were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters fought the blaze for many hours, and residents feared for their property. As foreign media indicated, the fire was even seen from the city of Bar, located north of Sutomore.
Shocking behaviour of tourists
While firefighters were desperately trying to extinguish the fire in Sutomore, and residents were worried about their lives and property, just a few kilometres from the source of the fire, at the foot of the hill, young people were dancing in a circle and having a great time, reports "Blic".
A video circulating on social media shows a large group of tourists on holiday having a great time. In the background, you can see the fire consuming the forest and hear wailing sirens, but the young people do not pay attention to them. The video went viral, and comments started pouring in about its protagonists.
"People came on holiday. After all, everyone has some problem," defends one of the netizens dancing against the backdrop of the fire. Another emphasis is that "The person who came up with the saying: 'The village is burning, but grandma is combing her hair,' had just this in mind".
