American Airlines is heralding a travel armageddon due to Taylor Swift's ongoing concert tour. Thousands of the singer's fans will follow her to European concerts in the coming months.

Taylor Swift has begun the European leg of the Eras Tour. Since 9 May, the American singer has given six concerts: three in Paris and three in Stockholm. More is yet to come. From May to August, the artist will perform nearly 50 times.

The events will occur in Warsaw, Lisbon, Madrid, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Munich, and Vienna.

Americans will come in droves to Taylor Swift concerts in Europe

In addition to local fans, tens of thousands of fans from the USA are expected at Taylor Swift's European tour concerts. Americans love one of their favourite artists so much that they will fly after her to the ends of the earth.

Americans' great interest in the singer's performances in Europe is also due to a significant difference in ticket prices. In the USA, tickets are much more expensive.

United Airlines has observed a significant increase in interest in buying tickets to Lisbon for the upcoming weekend (24-26 May), when Taylor Swift's concert will take place there. The same can be observed for flights around the concerts in other planned cities.

The highest increase in ticket interest has been observed for flights to Munich and Milan. There, demand for tickets increased by 45 percent compared to last year. The airline has adjusted its flight network to enable travellers from the USA to reach the concerts of the famous singer.

Taylor Swift boosts the global economy

Representatives of Delta Airlines stated in an interview with CNN that the company is prepared to implement the most extensive summer flight schedule in history. The carrier has added new routes and restored routes cancelled due to the pandemic.

The artist's popularity has even led to the emergence of the term "swiftonomics," which refers to Taylor Swift's ability to influence the economies of cities and countries she visits during her major global concert tour.
