The presidential campaigns of American candidates vying for the White House seat have reached a whole new level. This is due to Taylor Swift, who endorsed Kamala Harris. Offended, Donald Trump didn't hold back negative words towards the singer. Now, Stephen King has come to her defence.

The presidential campaign in the United States may resemble a spectacle for outside observers, with the main roles played by the candidates and the episodic ones by their voters. In the USA, the support of celebrities, who can sway their fans, is particularly important. The fiercest competition is for the most influential stars. Currently, that person is Taylor Swift, who, after the presidential debate, expressed her support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Not everyone appreciated the singer's words.

Did Donald Trump get offended by Taylor Swift?

After Taylor Swift's bold post on Instagram, Republican candidate Donald Trump spoke out about the singer. The former President of the United States stated that he was never a fan of the artist and that she "would pay for it (supporting Kamala Harris - ed.) in the music market". Interestingly, a few weeks before Swift's post, Trump had claimed she was incredibly attractive. The campaign team also used AI to create images of Swift's fans wearing shirts with Trump slogans. But it didn't end there.

On 15 September 2024, at 4:00 PM GMT, President Donald Trump added a post on the X platform, in which he directly wrote: "I hate Taylor Swift!". Although the post was quickly deleted, the damage was done, and screenshots of the incident are circulating on social media. Many believe the former president's bold statement may lead to his election defeat. All because of Taylor Swift's dedicated fans who stand by the singer.

Stephen King defends Taylor Swift

Donald Trump's hate-filled statement did not sit well with the king of horror. Author Stephen King has frequently indicated that he doesn't care for the former president's politics. The attack on Taylor Swift forced the author of works like "Carrie" to choose a side in the conflict. Unsurprisingly, the author chose the American singer, writing about her: "I love Taylor Swift. Her music makes me happy. End of story."

The writer's post sparked a heated discussion, particularly among Donald Trump's supporters, who reiterated the theory that most of the artist's songs are about choosing the wrong partners. Swift's defenders argue that her life experience has led the star to a point where she sides with a woman, not a man, in a crucial moment.
