Taylor Swift cancels Vienna concerts amid thwarted terrorist plot

Taylor Swift was compelled to cancel her concerts in Vienna after two men were detained for planning an attack on the stadium where she was set to perform. A statement has been released.

Taylor Swift is currently touring globally with The Eras Tour. After three nights in Warsaw, the American artist was scheduled to appear in Vienna. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, 7th August, the media reported that an ISIS group had planned terrorist attacks at the Happel Stadium.

According to the BBC, citing the Director General for Public Security, Franz Ruf, Austrian security services arrested two men linked to the planned attacks at Taylor Swift's concert.

A few hours after this news surfaced, the Austrian concert promoter posted a statement on Instagram announcing the cancellation of The Eras Tour in Vienna. Taylor Nation shared the post.

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour Vienna shows cancelled due to government officials confirmation of a planned terrorist attack. We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety. All tickets will be automatically refunded within the next 10 business days, reads the statement from Barracuda Music.
