Ouyang Jing, a Taiwanese actress, appealed to her compatriots to file lawsuits for the hate and persecution that Lin Yu-Ting faced. She pointed out writer J.K. Rowling as one of the culprits. Gold medalist was at the centre of the so-called gender scandal.
On Saturday, 10 August, Lin Yu-Ting from Taiwan won gold medal in boxing. Even before their bout, the 28-year-old faced enormous controversy regarding her gender. Doubts were expressed about whether she was genuinely a woman, as in 2023, the International Boxing Association (IBA) did not allow her to compete in the world championships because she failed gender tests.
These tests were conducted, however, by the Russian head of this federation, Umar Kremlev, after which the IOC deemed them illegal and unreliable. This did not change the fact that Lin Yu-Ting faced enormous hate, and after the Paris Olympic Games, she will decide whether to take legal action against the haters.
Taiwanese actress Ouyang Jing is encouraging her to do so by posting a special video on social media. She directly named who should be punished for the entire mess, pointing to the famous writer J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series.
If the persecuted were ordinary people, it would be hard for them to withstand such pressure. We must file lawsuits against the IBA, J.K. Rowling, and others. Show your support today, she said.

The writer wrote under one of the articles about her: - What needs to be done to end this madness? Does the boxer need to end up with life-altering injuries? Or maybe she needs to be killed? - we read. She meant that the woman was not fighting a woman but a man.
Ouyang Jing relayed that she was also persecuted in the past by another actress who accused her of hiding her male gender.
When you see that someone else is a victim of bullying, speak up and let the victim know that someone is supporting them! If you have enough courage, remember to express your support publicly, but if you are very worried that you might also become a target of bullying, you must at least show support in a one-on-one conversation, she added.
