Taylor Swift is currently the most popular and influential person in the music world. We regularly hear about broken streaming records and the huge success of her worldwide tour, "The Eras Tour." The American star has prepared for fans a show lasting over three hours, during which she sings songs not only from her latest album but also from her nearly twenty-year career. Every week, the largest stadiums around the world gather tens of thousands of fans to experience something amazing.
During the over three-hour concert, Taylor Swift sings as many as 44 songs, which can be found without any problem, for instance, on Spotify. Anyone going to the show can quickly check what to expect. However, there is one short segment during the performance. It lasts just a few minutes. During this segment, Taylor Swift performs so-called surprise songs. It is one of the most anticipated moments. During the sixth concert in London, she chose a song that gave hope she would announce "Reputation (Taylor's Version)."
Taylor Swift sang "I Did Something Bad." and what happened? Nothing
Let's remember that Taylor Swift is re-recording her albums because the artist's former manager, Scooter Braun, sold her rights to her own songs. She does this to ensure that everything she has ever written and sung belongs solely to her. Fans have already received "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," "Red (Taylor's Version)," "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," and "1989 (Taylor's Version)." So, the new versions of "Reputation" and the artist's debut album are yet to be released. It is the former that fans are waiting for the most.
Many fans theorised that if Taylor Swift sang "I Did Something Bad" during the acoustic segment, she would undoubtedly announce "Reputation (Taylor's Version)." This is because of the artist's iconic performance during the tour of that album. The live performance has gone down in history because the song sounded completely different from its studio version. Many people believe that these were some of Taylor Swift's best performances.
"I Did Something Bad" was the last song from "Reputation" that Taylor hadn't sung during "The Eras Tour." This is why fans strongly believed in the aforementioned theory. On 17th August, the singer grabbed her guitar and said she was excited because she hadn't sung the song she was about to perform in a long time. When the audience at Wembley realised what they were getting, they went wild. They started recording, hoping to get a release date for "Reputation (Taylor's Version). Their surprise was immense when, after singing, she put the guitar down and walked to the piano.
Currently, most fans believe that the new version of "Reputation" will be announced at the last concert in London on Tuesday, 20th August. It is unknown if the latest theory will come true. The only thing one can do now is simply wait, which is undoubtedly not easy.
