  • Super Typhoon Yagi is approaching China. The powerful natural force moved through the Philippines earlier in the week and is now crossing the South China Sea. Yagi is carrying heavy rainfall and destructive winds, reaching up to 240 kilometres per hour. On Hainan Island, where the super typhoon is expected to arrive, trains are not running, and planes are grounded. In many Chinese towns, classes have been suspended. Yagi also poses a threat to parts of Vietnam. Thousands of famous Ha Long Bay tourists have been advised to leave the local islands.
  • An 18-year-old Austrian citizen, who was fatally shot by police near the Israeli Consulate General in Munich on Thursday morning, was known as an Islamist - the Austrian Interior Ministry reported. German officials believe that the perpetrator intended to carry out a terrorist attack on the consulate.
  • The federal prosecutor’s office in Baltimore announced charges on Thursday against five Russian military intelligence GRU officers. They are alleged to be responsible for a destructive cyberattack on Ukrainian state institutions just before the 2021 invasion, as well as on the transport and logistics supporting NATO countries. - “They are marked people.
