Chemical agents should always be a last resort. Unfortunately, their use can affect the soil and our plants. That's why homemade remedies are an excellent solution to our garden problems and won't strain your wallet.
Grubs can ruin crops
The presence of grubs in the garden can be discovered straightforwardly. All we need is a spade to dig up some soil where our plants have stopped looking their best.
When we notice white, characteristic larvae appearing in the soil, we can be sure that grubs have settled on our property. Unfortunately, they feed on the roots of plants and grass, so nibbling on them can cause the plants to dry out and, consequently, even die.
Grubs often appear in gardens in April and May, so getting rid of them as quickly as possible is essential to continue enjoying the plants we care about.
How to get rid of grubs?
It might seem that removing grubs from the garden isn't easy. After all, they feed underground, making them inaccessible. That's not entirely true.
In this case, it's worth trying a homemade remedy for grubs. We only need three cloves of garlic and paraffin, which we can easily buy in almost any pharmacy or online, and about 1.2 liters of water.
Garlic should be peeled, crushed, and pressed through a garlic press, then mixed with 1.5 tablespoons of paraffin. This mixture must be chilled in the refrigerator for 12 hours. After this time, we only need to dissolve the resulting mix in water and pour it into a spray bottle to quickly spray the area occupied by grubs.
