Many people can't imagine cooking without butter. Its rich flavour can enhance most dishes, from baked goods to sauces. Whether we're using butter for frying, baking, or spreading, we can simplify kitchen tasks with its help. By employing a straightforward method, we can save both time and money.

Trick for cutting and storing butter

On the Instagram profile of Urszula Hryniewicka, a home organisation expert (known online as @lux.ula), an intriguing idea was shared for portioning and storing butter. With this trick, it will be easier for you to manage the amount used, and by taking only what you need, you'll avoid wasting the product. So, how do you do it?

Take a sheet of greaseproof paper and divide it into eight or even ten small sections. Next, place the paper on the sharp edge of a knife and carefully pierce through the block of butter piece by piece. This way, you'll obtain evenly sized pieces, separated by greaseproof paper. Once done, transfer the smaller portions to an airtight container and store them in the fridge.

You'll never do it any other way

If you need a small amount of butter, for instance, for a sandwich, simply take one ready portion. Because its volume is small, it will be ready for spreading in just a few minutes. Small pieces melt much faster than a whole block.

Additionally, butter divided into equal portions makes meal preparation easier. For example, dividing a stick (200 grams), into eight or ten equal parts, you get pieces of about 25 or 20 grams each. This allows for a more precise control over the amount of fat being used, which is especially important in dieting.

Divided this way, the product can also be frozen. When you need some butter, for example, for baking, you can take out precisely the amount you require, ensuring nothing goes to waste. This saves time and money!

You'll forget about measuring butter when kneading dough or preparing other dishes. Just add one or two portions according to the recipe requirements to the mix without fuss and without getting your hands dirty.
