A shooting took place in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Shots were fired in two locations, including a hair salon, leading to several people being injured. According to the police, the crime may have a family-related background.

The German station Westdeutscher Rundfunk reported on the dynamic events in Hagen. A spokesperson for the local police in Hagen informed that officers are working at the scene—in the city centre and in the districts of Eilpe and Breckerfeld. These areas have been cordoned off with tape.

The police have taken over the operation coordination from Dortmund. One of the suspected perpetrators is still evading the authorities.

Officers conveyed that according to preliminary findings, the tragic incident may have occurred between family members. The case has a family-related background.

The police in Hagen appealed on social media to the residents of the Rhineland town to avoid the specified areas and not to impede the police's work. An armed man who injured several people is still being sought.

"According to current information, the background of the crime may lie in the family environment. Currently, one person is in hiding. We are intensively searching for the perpetrator. Please avoid the city centre areas, the elevated road in Eilpe, and the Breckerfeld area," the police wrote on platform X.

Among other things, the bullets pierced the glass doors of the hair salon. The perpetrator used the weapon multiple times.
